Trinity Scoops National Geography Awards

This weekend was the 45th Conference of Irish Geographers held at the National University of Ireland, Galway. Trinity made 14 presentations at what is heralded as the biggest and best national conference so far. During the conference, three outstanding geographers from Trinity were presented with awards.

Bayview

Best Physical Geography Undergraduate Dissertation Award 2012 went to Luke Martin for his research on the Malahide Estuary. Luke was supervised by Professor Robin Edwards

The Award for Contribution to Society and Community went to Professor Anna Davies for her work with the Rediscovery Centre, Ballymun, Co. Dublin.

Anna Davies

Professor Gilmore was presented with the Lifetime Contribution Award. He served as Junior Lecturer at Trinity 1963-66. Lecturer 1966-75. Senior Lecturer 1975-86. Associate Professor 1986 -2000. He is currently Fellow Emeritus at Trinity College.
