The way in which we manage our environmental resources, such as water, can affect people differently depending on where they live (urban or rural locations), their socio-economic demographics and their cultural worldviews and lifestyles, which can lead to conflicts. Geographers are working at this interface between social and natural systems striving to understand these conflicts and how to ensure social and environmental justice for all.
