Welcome to the GeogBlog at Trinity College, Dublin Ireland. Posts to this site will be made by all members of our department: Professors to Undergraduates, Postgraduates and Post Docs. We aim to discuss and disseminate aspects of geography that interest us. We are passionate about geography and its practice. We view our place in education and research as providing a space for increased understanding and strive to disseminate knowledge and innovation.
As the Geography Discipline in the School of Natural Sciences, our interests are diverse, cross disciplinary and at the frontier. We will blog about Africa and about Mars – perhaps in the same post! We will describe aspects of the Irish landscape (above and below sea level) and about social injustice, urban decay, globalisation and the re-emergence of Ireland from the global economic crash. We will tell you about our most recent trips, our visitors and our publications and why they are important to the development of geography.
